Bharath Matha Temple In Vivekananda Kendra,Kanyakumari

The country’s southernmost tip of Kanyakumari, got yet another tourism attraction, the  “Bharat Mata Temple Kanyakumari” or “Bharat Maatha Sadhanam” here.Bharat Mata Temple Kanyakumari 12,000 sq.ft ‘mandir’ for Bharat Maatha built at the cost of `15 crore in the premises of the ‘Vivekanda Kendra’, in memory of one of India’s most revered spiritual masters, off the shore here, has “Ramayana Darshan” -a pictorial exhibition of Valmiki Ramayana in 108 wooden panels.  Each panel measuring 24 sq.ft. depicts an important episode in the epic in mural and oil paintings.                    Vivekananda Kendra appeals to all philanthropists, governmental agencies, corporate and industries houses and individuals donors to participate in this National endeavor by contributing liberally. This Ramayana Darshanam project, along with Bharat Mata Mandir, is estimated to cost Rupees Fifteen Crores. Each of the 108 panels, size 6ft x 4 ft, depicting an important episode in Ramayana in mural or oil painting can be sponsored by donating Rs. Five lakhs only. The name of the donor will be displayed under each panel.
       The cynosure of the Ramayana Darshanam Exhibition will be the 27 feet tall Hanuman Statue in front of the exhibition building. This black granite statue of Mahaveera Hanuman would cost Rupees Fifty lakhs. The name of the donor who donates the full cost will be displayed at a prominent place near the base of the statue.
